Concerts

As part of the overall Craiceann experience, concerts are staged on two evenings (normally Tuesday and Wednesday) in the theatre of the community centre (the Áras). 

Attendance at these is optional, and the cost, which is not included in the normal course fee, is usually around 20 Euros per concert.

The bands for Craiceann 2025 are

Tuesday night

Our long time tutor Aimee Farrell Courtney has assembled a band especially for this night not to be missed.

Wednesday night

The Mainlanders feature All Ireland Champion Peter McKenna on pipes, Micky Fearon on guitar and vocals, Aaron Glancy (another All Ireland champion!) on accordion and Sean Breen on bodhrán.

Deeper Understanding

Workshops

In addition to the daily classes, there are always special lectures, demonstrations and workshops on bodhrán related subjects such as bodhrán history, bodhrán making, irish Dancing, Lilting, bones playing, Sean-Nos Dancing, etc.. 

These workshops are a vital part of the Craiceann summer school experience and provide a deeper understanding of the cultural background of the bodhrán, irish traditional music and irish culture.
