Traditional Irish Music

Concerts

As part of the overall Craiceann experience, concerts are staged on two evenings (normally Tuesday and Wednesday) in the theatre of the community centre (the Áras).

Attendance at these is optional, and the cost, which is not included in the normal course fee, is usually around 20 Euros per concert.

Tuesday night

The OARS is a new contemporary duo featuring songwriter and guitarist Eoin Coughlan and multi-instrumentalist Brian Morrissey

Their recently released album was recorded and produced in Louisiana by multi-Grammy winner Dirk Powell, who describes: “Listening to The OARS, one gets drawn in first by the infectious rhythms and magnetic musical chemistry. The tunes and grooves are rock solid yet always moving. The songs arrive in the centre of this feeling, full of brave lyrics, vivid imagery, and fearless emotion. Their combination of rawness and finesse is truly rare and instantly engaging”. The OARS are already attracting attention from some of the main European festivals. They recently supported the iconic band The Stunning and toured with Damien Dempsey in 2025.

Wednesday night

"Sweep Down to the Sea"—a spectacular celebration of one of Ireland's most beloved cultural icons - Percy French.
From his humorous classics like “Are Ye Right There Michael” to the wistful beauty of “The Mountains of Mourne,” this show captures the wit, charm, and soul of his artistry.

Combining rich harmonies, emotive storytelling, and spellbinding performances, Ultan, Eleanor, and Jimmy will breathe new life into French’s songs, connecting his genius with contemporary audiences.

This unmissable show brings together three extraordinary artists: Ultan Conlon, Eleanor Shanley, and Jimmy Higgins, each with a legacy of performing alongside legends.
